Gilfach Farm - May 2013

Gilfach Farm a reserve I had been dying to visit for quite a while, not to far from my Girlfriends dads place in Shropshire, so when a bright warm spring day dawned it was nice to be able to hop over the Welsh border into the Elan Valley, to see for the first time some cracking Summer migrants.

Pied Flycatcher and Redstart are bountiful in the oak laden valley of Gilfach, and neither were in short supply, although trying to find a nice spot to photograph from was a bit of a task with lots of other photographers having the same ideas.

  1. Great shots. I love Gilfach, went there in May myself, but wasn't as sunny! In fact it was raining much of the time!
